Captions: Snappy and Aligned
- We’ve made some delightful adjustments to the captions feature, offering a more precise and intuitive experience:
- Snaps and alignment buttons have been added to captions, allowing for pixel-perfect positioning.
- We’ve painstakingly fixed the font rendering in Captions for those particularly eccentric italic fonts like Zapfino.
Improved Zoom on High-End Devices
For users with iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro, we’ve got some good news! Camera+ 23.2 now supports 2x zoom in the auto and Magic ML presets, giving you even more flexibility to frame your shots.
Bug Fixes and Performance Enhancements
As is tradition, we’ve focused on squashing bugs and optimizing performance to ensure Camera+ 23.2 runs smoother than ever. Our dedication to craftsmanship drives us to continuously refine and perfect your photography experience.
We hope you enjoy the Camera+ 23.2 update and continue to cherish the moments you capture with our app. We’re committed to making Camera+ the best photography app on the market, and we’re grateful for your support.

Jul 30, 2022 Version 22.1
In this release we upgraded the Camera+ editor in the Photos app to the new editing experience, improved the captions interface, and fixed some bugs.
In version 22 we introduced:
New Foundations
We have rewritten a lot of the app to use the latest technologies, making it faster, modernized, and future-proof. But you may be wondering, what's in it for you? For starters, we have been able to redesign the editor, to make it much prettier and way more streamlined. For example, you can now effortlessly scroll through dozens of filters instead of seeing them in pages of 9 at a time. Layering effects and tweaking their intensities is now a much more intuitive and accessible process. And the new design is simply- gorgeous on iPad: you have a big editing area and a vertical toolbar to work with. We are really proud of all of these changes, and we think you'll enjoy the smoother, more effortless editing experience.
UltraRes: Capture Every Detail
Second up is our new UltraRes feature: it allows you to upscale your photos up to 48 Megapixels, which is 4 times what the native camera sensor can achieve. How does it work? It uses a lightning fast machine-learning model that we painstakingly trained on millions of photos, to teach it how to upscale images without making them blurry. Keep every detail in your photos, and don't ever be afraid to crop or print them! UltraRes is available both through a camera preset, and also as a new tool in the editor: you can apply it to any photo you've taken, even with the system camera.
Tweaks and Fixes
In addition to the usual bug-squishing fest we perform for every major release, we enjoy taking the time to throw in a request or two from our favorite people, you! The one we love most this time around is the live histogram in the camera screen, which you can enable through the tools button in the top left corner of the camera. This has been a popular request from our pro customers, but it can be very useful for anyone interested in getting better pictures!
The Fine Print
- UltraRes is available in devices with a neural engine (i.e., iPhone 11 or better, iPad Pro 3rd generation or better, iPad 9th generation or better, and iPad Mini 6th generation or better). This is because the process is much slower in other devices, and editing takes more memory than they have. Additionally, it will not upscale photos larger than 12 Mpx.
- Live histogram is available in devices with a notch and some iPads. We love how it looks in the phone's left "ear".
- Have a question, problem, or suggestion? Contact us via the in-app bug reporter, conveniently located in the menu, and we'll be happy to help!

Also, the metadata for a photo saved into the camera roll might have had the incorrect location if the image was taken less than 1 degree west to the Greenwich meridian. Sorry for the inconvenience, and many thanks to Nick for helping us diagnose the issue, which has now been fixed.

Season’s greetings from all of us here at LateNiteSoft! This year as we were gathered around the (virtual) office holiday tree to read "A Christmas Carol", we decided that we would fill our stockings with a multitude of little things that have been, *ahem*, bugging us.
First we decided to light up our home screens once again with the wintry festivity of our seasonal snowy icon. We hope you enjoy it too!
Then, we moved on to presents for Christmas past, present, and future.
For Christmas past, we have taken your feedback to heart and made some significant improvements in areas we felt really needed it. We’ve polished up the crop and straighten interface, so that now they can be used together to really make your photos shine. We also sped up the preview of slow shutter, so you can get more accurate shots of your neighbor’s light displays. Finally we made sure that when you’re using the torch, that it remembers properly when it was on and at what level, so you can get right back to snapping after checking your last shot.
For Christmas present we’re looking to all of you who might have a shiny new 2021 iPad under the tree. We’ve ensured that Camera+ 2 always aligns itself, and detects all of the available cameras properly, and that Portrait mode only appears when a camera is selected that is capable of portrait photography.
Finally, for Christmas future, we have a gift for those who haven’t yet gotten acquainted with Camera+ 2. Now, the first time you start up the app, you’ll be presented with a quick tour to help you get started.
Once again, from all of us at LateNiteSoft, we wish you a happy, peaceful, and safe holiday season.

Bug fixes and performance improvements.
In version 6 we introduced iOS 15, iPhone 13 and Apple Watch 7 adaptations.
We've significantly sped up the process of starting the camera up and changing presets. We never want you to miss a single moment!
The Quality & Format and Save submenus, over the years, have become super streamlined and very short. We also thought it was now a bit confusing as to what belonged where. So we did the logical thing, and merged them into one super submenu called Quality and Save.
We've added a brand-new shiny widget that you can embed into any home screen, or the dashboard, to give you quick and easy access to your favorite functions, like simply taking a photo or a selfie, viewing your photos, and taking a macro photo.
We have several updates to do with RAW, the way it's handled and its ease of use. iPhone 12 users can now shoot RAW photos using both the Ultra-Wide lens as well as their front camera.
RAW is no longer a second class citizen as far as the Photo Library integration is concerned. You can now view your RAW smart album from directly within Camera+ 2.
ProRAW is now compatible with saving in TIFF format, and that option will be available to you via our aforementioned brand new Quality and Save menu.

iOS 15, iPhone 13 and Apple Watch 7 adaptations. It's that time of year again. Time to sharpen your pencils, polish your apples, and fill your backpack for the start of a new school year. And that means it's also time for a new version of iOS. But don't worry, while we have you covered with upgrading to the latest and greatest iOS 15, we've done a bit of extra credit as well.

Monuments mode uses the power of AI to detect objects (like cars) and people (like people) moving through several frames, and like magic, erases them from the final photo. All you have to do is point, and shoot, and Camera+ 2 will do all of the hard work for you.
To satisfy your curiosity of how Monuments Mode does its thing, we've made a blog post with all the nitty gritty details. Find it here: https://camera.plus/blog/.
Lastly, Monuments Mode is cutting edge technology and with that in mind, it can only be run by devices with a minimum of 4Gb of RAM and iOS 14 or higher.

Version 4.5 is our official iOS 14 support release. Since the initial release of Camera+ 2 we have focused a lot on streamlining and refining the shooting process. Today we're pleased to bring you an update focused on the editing side of things.
First off, all you filter junkies out there know that it's been some time since we've released a filter pack. That all changes today. I'm pleased to introduce the newest addition to our filter lineup: Social! Our resident social media guru, Rachel, has come up with nine stunning new modern filters for your editing pleasure. But don't take my word for it, check out this blog post where Rachel herself showcases each effect, it's inspiration, and some ideas for using them.
But we didn't stop there! One of the most requested editing features of all time has been a curve editor for quickly adjusting the tone and amount of light in your photos. Now you can find this shiny new tool in The Lab. (Disclaimer: No genies were harmed in the granting of this wish.)
Finally, for all of you out there who have secret recipes of edits that you like to apply to many photos, we're pleased to introduce the Favorites system. There are several ways to save and apply favorite sets of edits. While you're editing, you can tap in the top center of the screen to save the current edits as a favorite or apply a favorite set. Or tap a thumbnail in your lightbox, and then long press on Edit to reveal a menu that allows you to do the same without ever leaving the Lightbox! From the favorites menu, you can manage your favorites by deleting or renaming them. You can also preview what edits are applied as well as share your best favorites with your friends.
As always we've squished many bugs, and Camera+ 2 is now fully compatible with iOS 14. If you run into any issues, or just want to share a favorite with us, please send us a note through the in-app bug reporter located in the menu. We love hearing from you!

As the creators of Camera+ 2, we're passionate about great photos. We developed Clarity to give you a one touch improvement to nearly every photo. Then we added Clarity Pro, which lets you control the amount and intensity of Clarity applied. Now 10 years after our initial release, we're incredibly proud to introduce you to the latest addition to your toolbox, Magic ML.
Magic ML harnesses the power of machine learning to perform sorcery on your photos. It intelligently analyzes aspects of your photo that could be improved, and picks just the right amount. You can find Magic ML in the Lab, and with one touch, you can improve any and all of your favorite photos. Changes performed by Magic ML are non destructive, so you'll always be able to check the before and after, and revert back to the original if you wish. You can even take Magic ML edits as a starting point, and once you've seen what it came up with, tweak the settings to suit your taste and style.
Now I know what you're thinking. You've already edited all of the photos in your library, what you really want to do is improve your potential photos, pictures you haven't even taken yet. With Magic ML, you can do just that using our new shooting preset, that automagically enhances your photos as you take them.
It's easy to go on about how much Magic ML improves every picture and what a great job it does, but we believe a picture is worth a thousand words, and a video has got to be worth a few more right? So we've made a video to show you just how Magic ML works and to show you some of the results it can produce.

We were enthused when we saw mouse support had surprisingly made its way into the latest version of iPadOS, so we had to add it to Camera+ 2 too! If you like to edit your photos in your iPad, you can now use a mouse to manipulate the controls. We can't wait to see how this "new" paradigm further evolves in the future.
We also included fixes and improvements for some of the latest issues reported by you. Thanks for keeping in touch!
